Known from northern (Kuei-ho harbor, Wan-li (Ref. 43539) and rarely found in Yehliu (Ref. 43538)), southern and western Taiwan (including Tung-hsiao, Hsin-chu, Yun-gan (Ref. 43515) and Hsiao-liu-chiu) and from Penghu (Ref. 55073), Lanyu and Green islands (Ref. 48445, 48451). Recorded from the estuarine part of Shiliao river (Ref. 36073). Caught by fyke net (Ref. 36073). First successful larviculture in Taiwan occurred in 1998 (Ref. 40927).
